Yes! I have done my double eyelid surgery le. Here is the story:
On last thursday, i arrived at the TLC clinic with full make up wearing contact lens. My doctor is DR Myint. She is a really nice and gentle lady (philipines? myanmar?) and she speaks really softly. (Sometimes very difficult to figure out what is she toking about *haha*)
Dr Myint: Hi Huimei, so what will you like to do? Me: I wanna have double eyelids Dr. (She looked at my eyes, and took out the double eyelid glue Y stick) Dr Myint: Ok, your eyes are symetrical, very good. So how high you want your cease to be? Me: Hmm.. Anything wor... Haha, I not so sure, as long as looks nice can le. I want tapered crease! Then she started to use the stick and instructed me to open and close my eyes ++++ times. After sometimes, we decided on having medium tapered crease. Dr Myint: Ok so when do you wanna do the surgery? Me: Hmm, the day before the good friday ph can? cos i will have longer break for me to rest my eyes. Dr Myint: Oh so sorry, i leaving overseas for training from 20th onwards to the end of March. How about next wk saturday? Me: Huh. I next sat working morning shift ler. Dr Myint: Haha, so now how? How about today? I have cancelled some last minute appointment later. But you tml working right? Me: Hmm, okok. Today do can:) Dr Myint: Really? Then tml how? Me: Tml pm shift, nvm de, anyway, all my collegues knew i going for this surgery le, its ok even if my eyes are swollen like goldfish. Hahahaa
And so, they brought me to the second storey procedure room to prepare for the surgery. Firstly, I need to take out my lens and wash off my make up. Then the nurse helped me to wear a hair band to keep my hair off my face. their facial foam is very good ne! Really washes off every bit of make up off my face. If only that facial foam is included in the package.
Next is the most tiring part of all: the marking. Same thing again, Dr Myint used the Y stick to create the crease and to do the marking. I opened and closd my eyes many many time, until i could hardly open them towards the end of the first hour. And then she will take some pics of my eyes for the before and after photos collection.
Finally, after the marking is done, i proceeded to the operating table. There, Dr Myint did one last checking of the markings before starting the op.
First: they cleaned my face with plain chlorhexidine, followed by draping (leaving only one rectangular portion of my eyes exposed. Then Dr Myint injected my eyelids with LA. So painful! (To me lah, cos my pain threshold is very low.) Next she cut 3 slits on my upper eyelids and flipped my eyelid over (really uncomfortable) and give LA again (Hurts the most!) and cut 1 slit as well. Next she started the stitching le.
The whole procedure just took about 45 mins or less, really fast, and except for the injections, the rest doesn't hurts at all. But you can feel the cutting and the sewing:0 And Dr Myint also gave me some botox injections to my lower eye bags to reduce the muscles puffiness. She say this will help to enhance my eyes. The botox is $100, she says will last for around 6 months. Ai Mei is like this de. Haha. After that, the nurse gave me cold compress for about 10mins to reduce the swelling of my eyes before i go home.
Cos this is a last minute decision, I never brought my specs or even sunglasses. I just walked out of Far East shopping centre, looking as blur as ever as I couldn't see my way clearly. Luckily, after spending some time, I found the taxi stand which is next to the shopping centre and took cab home.
The first thing my bf saw me when i reached home is: Wa! Pain or not? Never put you to sleep de meh? Me: Where got sleep de, this kind of minor surgery normally is awake one de mah... Bf: Yikes... Er Xin.... *Diao...*
